ICEGATE Registration & DSC Integration

Customs electronic gateway user profile setup, digital signature token binding, and e-SANCHIT operational readiness.

What is ICEGATE?

The Indian Customs Electronic Gateway (ICEGATE 2.0) is the national portal operated by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). It provides secure electronic data interchange (EDI) services linking trading entities, cargo carriers, customs brokers, and partner government agencies with Indian Customs.

Every enterprise engaging in international trade must establish an active ICEGATE user profile. Without this registration, commercial entities cannot file or track Bills of Entry, generate Shipping Bills, upload digitized trade documents via e-SANCHIT, or manage RoDTEP electronic duty credit ledgers.

Essential Operations Handled on ICEGATE

  • Shipping Bill & Bill of Entry Tracking: Real-time electronic visibility of cargo clearance statuses, examination orders, and out-of-charge (OOC) releases.
  • e-SANCHIT Paperless Documentation: Uploading supporting trade invoices, packing lists, and testing certificates with digital cryptographic signatures.
  • AD Code & Bank Account Linking: Associating Authorized Dealer bank details with destination customs port EDI codes.
  • RoDTEP & RoSCTL Scrip Management: Generating and transferring electronic duty credit scrips directly from your customs ledger.

Digital Signature Integration on ICEGATE 2.0

To maintain legal compliance under the Information Technology Act, ICEGATE mandates that the user profile must be authenticated using an organizational Class 3 Digital Signature Certificate.

The digital token must be registered using the official ICEGATE PKI utility applet. Common errors encountered during setup include token driver mismatches, root certificate trust failures, and browser PKI service communication blocks. Ocean Technovative provides complete troubleshooting to ensure seamless token functionality.

Prerequisite Records

  • Active DGFT Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) certificate.
  • Authorized Signatory PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, and official photo ID.
  • Corporate Board Resolution or authorization letter authorizing the ICEGATE user.
  • Class 3 Organizational DSC stored on a FIPS-certified USB token.
  • Bank account details and authorized dealer code letter.

Role of Ocean Technovative

Ocean Technovative configures the ICEGATE 2.0 user account, maps authorized signatory credentials, registers the Class 3 DSC on the customs server, and assists in setting up secondary child logins for internal logistics teams and customs brokers.

Official Customs Notice: ICEGATE is maintained by the Directorate General of Systems and Data Management, CBIC. User credential verification is governed by customs regulations. Ocean Technovative provides administrative setup and technical token integration assistance.
